Meet your hosts

Hi! We’re Avery & Natalie, the owners of Paul Bunyan Campground. We fell in love with Michigan while living and traveling full-time in our self-built Sprinter van back in 2021, and in 2025 that love brought us here—ready to breathe new life into this special place.
Over the past year, we’ve poured our hearts (and a lot of hard work) into restoring and revitalizing the campground. In 2025 alone, we removed over 75 yards of trash from the property and all buildings, deep-cleaned every space, and repainted all the rooms in the front building. We refreshed the game room with new furniture and games, made significant improvements to the pool, and completely refurbished the rentable cabin to make it warm, comfortable, and welcoming once again.
Safety and community were top priorities as well. We removed outdated playground equipment and transformed that area into a community bonfire, creating a place where stories are shared, friendships are made, and many s'more eaten. Throughout the season, we also hosted many fun and memorable events, bringing laughter, connection, and new traditions back to the campground.
As we head into 2026, we’re honored to carry the torch of Paul Bunyan Campground’s rich history while continuing to add thoughtful upgrades, fresh energy, and meaningful experiences. Our goal is simple: to honor what has always made this campground special while creating an inviting, vibrant place where families, travelers, and longtime campers can truly feel at home. We can’t wait to welcome you and continue this journey together.
